I was never really interested in this restaurant that I didn't know that recently got remodeled. My first experience was me and a friend driving down San Fernando in downtown San Jose and him going "OMG BO TOWN!" and whipping out his phone to take a picture. Bo was his name, you see. The light turned green so I had to keep going and he couldn't seem to wrap his mind around the fact that a restaurant was named after him so I drove back around in order for him to take the picture.
The few weeks later David asks me if I wanted to go there. In my head, I was thinking, you actually know that place? He said it looks so pretty and better than it used to be. In my head, I was thinking, you knew what it used to be? I didn't really mind going but we kept putting it off until, finally, today, we were looking for something to eat we decided to go.
The sign and the decor outside are super contemporary giving the place a fairly new and OOOH feeling.
WRONG.
We walk to the door and it was locked. David says "Oh there's no one here." We waited till the waitress saw us before she came running over. The inside looked like a typical Cantonese Asian restaurant similar to East Lake Restaurant or Dynasty Dim Sum Restaurant. "Oh just kidding there is people here." There was nobody inside except for a table with 2 mexicans and a table with 2 asians. The table clothes and half window covering curtains were all carnation pink.
Now it's David
When we got in there i noticed the music played by the zether and the erhu. The experience should be reserved for Asians above the age of 40. This is not a place recommended for college students, any students in general. Or anyone who was a student within the past 10 years...
Jenny and I jokingly while seriously made old asian couple jokes just to make light of a very bleak experience.
I do not recommend this place. Now if it was an asian seafood place with a big ass bar and a happy hour that played Lady GaGa while i can order walnut shrimp. Then MAYBE.
Oh and the food was okay. meh. but not worth $30 now matter how much walnut shrimp they gave us. Maybe just the walnuts though cuz those are good.
